Our News article in July shared information about the purchase and roll out of the PASS system and this is a small update about our progress in rolling this system out to our Service Users.
Having commenced implementing the new system in May, new Service Users are now also being assessed to use it. The main impact of this on Care Workers is that the paper care plan in the home will be more in depth and the plan will be person centred and outcome focussed.
However, in the meantime, our staff will continue to deliver care and write their reports as usual, ensuring that they consider how they are supporting the delivery of the outcomes documented within the care plan.
The next phase of the system implementation will be to switch over to the electronic recording of Medicine Administration Records (MAR) sheets, care plans and visit records.
All our Care Workers are to be given training and be fully supported when this happens to ensure a smooth transition. The benefits of the PASS system are great and will have a positive impact on both Service Users and Care Workers.
